How to choose ceiling fans
- Blade span: Rooms up to 75 sq ft suit 29 to 36 inch fans; up to 175 sq ft, 42 to 48 inches; larger rooms, 50 inches or more.
- Clearance: Keep the blades at least 7 feet above the floor and 18 inches from walls.
- Controls: Remote controls, speed settings and dimmable light are listed on each product page.
- Mounting: Fans need a ceiling box rated for fan support; have them installed by a licensed electrician.

What size ceiling fan do I need?
Match the blade span to the room: 29 to 36 inches for small rooms, 42 to 48 inches for rooms up to 175 sq ft, and 50 inches or more for large living rooms.
How high should a ceiling fan be mounted?
The blades should be at least 7 feet above the floor; 8 to 9 feet gives the best airflow.
Can a ceiling fan replace a ceiling light?
Yes. A fan with an integrated light provides general lighting as well as airflow, as long as the ceiling box is rated to support a fan.
